I love tour groups, simply because they enhance your experience. I recently visited Northern Ireland with a group. The two guides we had were both locals who had grown up during the Troubles; hearing them talk about their experience and perspective is one hundred times more insightful and contextually important than what you’ll get by reading Lonely Planet. A tour group is also perfect to learn about the best places in town regarding food, drink, entertainment and overall cool experiences.
