据《新京报》报道，周一，一名男子因在南山科技园附近的公交站台内吸电子烟而被罚款50元（合7美元），这是深圳开出的内地首张电子烟罚单。

electronic cigarette是电子烟。
该男子因违反（violate）深圳自去年10月1日起实施的新版《控烟条例》（new regulation on smoking control）而被罚款。
深圳市控烟办方面介绍，新版《控烟条件》将深圳禁烟场所（nonsmoking places）从七类增加至九类。其中，公共交通运输站站楼行人出入口（the entrance and exit of public transportation terminals）外侧五米范围内、公共交通工具室外站台（outdoor platforms）和等候队伍所在区域（waiting areas）列入“禁烟区”（nonsmoking areas）。
深圳市控烟办方面称，新版《控烟条例》中，对于吸烟（smoking）和烟草制品（tobacco products）的定义明确（clarifies the definition），并强调吸电子烟也被纳入吸烟的范畴（within the scope of tobacco products）。
被罚款（fine）的男子表示，自己一个多月前开始吸电子烟（smoke e-cigarettes），刚从广州来深圳，不知道电子烟也在深圳控烟的范围内。
